Coombe Bissett and Homington Village Hall is situated on a hill overlooking the village with stunning views of the surrounding countryside from the terrace, which is ideal for receiving guests at a wedding or party. The main hall has been extended with picture windows leading to the terrace. The Homington Room is a smaller room adjacent to the main hall, suitable for small events, has a bar at one end, and can be hired separately. There is a selection of tables and chairs, enough to seat at least 120 guests for dining. A small committee room is also available. There is ample parking for a large number of cars, with overspill onto the adjacent recreation field, with permission. Arrangements can be made to accommodate a marquee for wedding on the adjacent field when booking the hall. It is with regret that the management committee have decided that the hall curtains may not be removed in future. This is because there has been repeated damage to the fittings. All damage caused by hirers will be paid for from the deposit.
A large curtained stage has modern lighting and a multi-channel sound system with portable mics and CD/tape player. A laptop computer or tablet or mobile phone can be plugged into the mixer for playing music using a stereo mini jack plug. Please note that you may need an adaptor for your phone etc. There is no facility for bluetooth input. Simple instructions for use of the equipment are available in the lighting gallery. There is an additional hire charge for the use of these facilities and they must be booked well in advance. Suitable training in their use is available.
There is also a large electrically lowered screen for widescreen films and audio-visual presentations, making it ideal for conferences. The hall has Wi-Fi enabling connection to all internet facilities. The local drama club uses the hall for pantomime and plays. There are two rooms either side of the stage which can be used as dressing rooms.
There is spacious secure accommodation, disabled persons’ access and toilet, and shower unit, a modern well-equipped kitchen with commercial gas cooker, 2 fridge-freezers, another freezer, dishwasher, microwave, 2 hot water urns for drinks, H&C water and electrical heating. The kitchen is suitable for commercial caterers or DIY and has two serving hatches to the main hall. The hall is regularly used by Brownie packs for "camping" holidays. Adjacent to the hall is a recreation ground and children's playground. The hall floor is marked out with a badminton court.

Implications of the Coronavirus Epidemic
The UK government has removed all restrictions which hitherto constrained activities in the Village Hall and we are therefore open for business as usual. However the government is still advising us all to act carefully and remain cautious regarding the spread of the virus. Responsibility now lies with the individual, for example, to get tested if they have symptoms, minimising social contacts, paying attention to cleaning and wearing masks in crowded areas. It is a matter for the organisers of events in the Hall to apply this advice as they think is appropriate.
